Brawl Stars Removes Mastery System with 1000% Mastery Event

Supercell has announced a big change in Brawl Stars progression systems: the popular Mastery system is being removed next update. To help players make the most of the remaining time, they launched their largest community event yet – 1000% Mastery Madness.

Key Points
  • If the entire player base reaches 700 billion Mastery points, everyone will receive the full 1000% bonus.

  • Once the next update lands, Mastery rewards will be deleted or reworked, and this is the last chance to earn them in their current form.

  • The Mastery system has been one of the most reliable and well-liked parts of Brawl Stars for years, and some players aren’t happy with the removal.

As revealed in the official video, the 1000 Masteries event dramatically boosts Mastery point earnings by up to 1000%, letting players progress faster than ever before. The event is community-driven: if the entire player base reaches 700 billion Mastery points, everyone will receive the full 1000% bonus.

During this limited-time event, the daily cap on Mastery points has also been raised, making it easier to push progress on favorite brawlers. Rewards include:

  • Mega Trophy Box
  • Legendary and Hypercharge Starr Drops
  • Unique cosmetics (Pin, Player Icon, Title)
  • A lot of Mastery Points

Players can track the community’s progress with a new button on the main screen. But there’s a catch: once the update lands, Mastery rewards will be deleted or reworked, and this is the last chance to earn them in their current form.

What’s Coming After Masteries?

So, Mastery isn’t really gone-gone, but getting split up and moved into two other things. First is the new Trophy Road Rework. It’s being changed to make progress more rewarding for new people joining the game. Some of the mastery rewards will be added there now.

Then there’s something called Records. It’s like achievements, but different. Cosmetic stuff like Pins, Icons, Titles-they’re not just vanishing. They’re supposed to come back later through this Records system. More info will be given in another Brawl Talk, they said.

Still, people have to remember: once the update drops, you can’t get those mastery resources anymore unless you collect them before. Which honestly feels kind of bad for many who spent time grinding.

Why Are So Many Players Not Happy?

Despite the launch of a flashy event, community reaction, especially on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), has been overwhelmingly negative. Many players expressed anger after investing hundreds of hours into mastering brawlers. The rationale behind removing a well-liked feature is being widely questioned.

While the 1000% boost is welcomed, many see it as a temporary distraction. A sizable number of users are urging the developers to rethink the move. Players who had nearly completed their Mastery titles feel particularly betrayed, especially those close to finishing all the Mastery titles. It’s like all their effort just disappeared.

Right now, the only thing to do is grind. Supercell said clearly-play now and get your Masteries done before it’s too late. If you’re aiming for the best results, go for Mythic and Legendary brawlers. Get them to Silver III or more, so at least you can carry over the cosmetic parts later through Records.
