Rainbow Six Mexico Major 2021 should be on your bucket list for LAN championships to watch next week. Sixteen renowned teams compete for $500,000, but there’s more at stake than just prize money. Teams are eyeing on the Six Invitational (SI) points, which they will need to qualify for the Six Invitational 2022. The Rainbow Six Mexico Major 2021 celebrates talents from all over the globe. With fifteen countries representatives, the folks over at Rainbow Six ensured multilingual streams for the mentioned countries.

Nevertheless, the primary stream will be hosted by the official Rainbow Six Twitch channel. Whereas a secondary stream, nicknamed Bravo stream, will be running since the group stage matches will be happening simultaneously.

Rainbow Six Mexico Major 2021 Teams and Groups

The group stage consists of four groups of four teams. Group stage matches are only best-of-one, but each team will have their turn to fight with every opponent in their respective group. The regional teams are distributed evenly across every group, whereby there will be one team from Europe, North America, Copa Elite Six (South America), and the APAC (Asia).

After the group stage concludes, only the top two seeds advance to the Playoffs, whereas the others are eliminated.

  • Group A: BDS Esport, CYCLOPS athlete gaming, Susquehanna Soniqs, and Team oNe eSports.
  • Group B: FURIA Esports, Natus Vincere, Spacestation Gaming, and Knights.
  • Group C: DAMWON Gaming, DarkZero Esports, G2 Esports, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
  • Group D: Invictus Gaming, Team Empire, Team Liquid, and TSM.

Note that Knights are not in attendance due to complications with flight disruptions from Australia and Mexico City. Thus, Group B will still go on but with one less candidate.

There are definitely several notable teams to keep an eye on at the Rainbow Six Mexico Major 2021. For instance, reputable powerhouses, such as Spacestation Gaming, Navi, G2, Liquid, and Team Empire, to name a few. However, perhaps the most-anticipated team, or we rather say the Champions themselves, are on board. Ninjas in Pyjamas were the hailed champions of the Six Invitational 2021 just two months ago. They won a generous $1M, establishing them as the most achieved Rainbow Six team.

Let’s not forget about Spacestation Gaming, the former Six Invitational 2020 champion, who is also prepping for the major. We anticipate the two rivals to make their way into the Playoffs convincingly, so they can duke it out as titans.

The Group Stage is set for August 16 – 18, and then, the top seeds will have a two-day break before advancing their run through Playoffs from August 20 – 22.
