Roblox, Genshin Impact amongst the most hated mobile games in the world
Most gamers in the world love a particular video game or two. But, many people might hate a particular game as well for different reasons. Maybe they just suck at it, the game is annoying, straight up bad, filled with hackers plus bugs, or it’s considered “cring.”
A recent study conducted by DotNek and published on Electronics Hub attempts to understand which country hates what game the most. The answer is Roblox, which is the most hated video game in 28 countries. YIKES.
How did the study calculate the most hated mobile games in each country?
When you dislike something, what do you do? You tweet about it like a normal person (xD). DotNek filtered out more than 3 million negative tweets to figure out the most hated applications in each country. While the study presents a fun way to look at the most hated applications and games around the world, the method of data collection does mean that it should be taken with a grain of salt.
After all, just looking at tweets is certainly not the most accurate way to conclude what a person likes or dislikes. If we were to do that with the movie Morbius, for example, the action film would be the highest rated in history. Unfortunately, it isn’t.
Most hated mobile games around the world
With that out of the way, buckle up, because you are about to know what the top five most hated games around the world are.
- Roblox: Most hated in 28 countries
- Homescapes: Most hated in 24 countries
- Genshin Impact: Most hated in 14 countries
- Clash of Clans: Most hated in 12 countries
- Gardenscapes: Most hated in 11 countries
Roblox, being the fun community-based game, taking the first spot is certainly surprising, but that is the case. The 28 countries which hate it include places like Argentina, Brazil, France, Indonesia, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and even Russia.
The award-winning and critically acclaimed Genshin Impact is another surprising addition to the list. The game’s release on Android and iOS has been phenomenal, to say the least, and it has quickly become one of the highest-grossing mobile games in history. People in 14 countries, however, don’t think so.
Even popular and loved mobile games didn’t escape the wrath in some countries. One such title is 8 Ball Pool, the immensely popular pool game by Miniclip which has been around since 2010. Even it’s hated in six countries like Palestine, Congo, and Albania.
PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular games in the world, is also hated in four countries. One of these is Afghanistan, where it’s banned by the Taliban for “leading the youth astray.”
Supercell’s card-based strategy game, Clash Royale, is also on the list as being the most hated game in 10 countries, including Ecuador, Israel, and Malaysia. Activision’s CoD: Mobile also made an appearance as the most hated game in six countries.
