How to refund a skin in VALORANT (2025)
What if you don’t want a certain VALORANT skin after buying it? Can you refund the skin in VALORANT in 2025? In this article, let’s take a look at how to get a refund on a skin in VALORANT.
Skins and in-game cosmetics have been a part of free-to-play multiplier games for a long time. Games such as Fortnite made the concept of a battle pass mainstream. A game like VALORANT realized that they could do the same to make a lot more revenue from the game. There are certain games that are pay-to-win but VALORANT isn’t. A weapon skin only provides certain animations and features to admire as cosmetic accessories.

How to refund a skin in VALORANT in 2025
Riot Games frequently adds new and exciting skins to the game. You might want to impulsively buy a skin as soon as it launches.
Thus, VALORANT has provided a method for players to refund a skin if they feel like they don’t wish to own it anymore. One must also note that unlike CS2, skins in VALORANT are not tradable on a market. There are some exceptions on refunds, though. Below are some items that players cannot get a refund on:
- Used weapon skins
- Upgraded weapon skins
- Used in-game content (Gun Buddies, Player Cards, etc.)
- Character contract levels
- Weapon skin levels
- Weapon skin bundles
- Premium Battle Passes
- Premium Battle Pass levels
- Radianite points
Below are all the steps to follow to get a refund:
- Open the internet browser of your choice.
- Head towards the Riot Games website.
- Players will need to log in with the credentials of the account that the player used to buy the skins on their PC.
- Search for the ‘My Order History’ section that is present in the menu.
- All purchases made by the player in the game will be listed there with the Refund option right beside each of the players’ purchases.
- Click on the Refund button, The website will launch the game’s client on the players’ device for a quick patch, after which the refunds will be made in-game.
How much are VALORANT skins?
As we’ve highlighted, VALORANT skins aren’t cheap. They’re released periodically to the market after being designed by Riot Games, and they’ll rarely go on sale. There’s the intermittent ‘Night Market’ promotion that goes live once or twice a year and allows users to pick up random skins for a heavily discounted price, but it’s a hit-and-miss activity. If you want to pick up the best VALORANT skins, you’ll need to part ways with a pretty penny – more than in most other games.
But that’s just how the ‘free to play’ model works.
If you want to purchase just one standard skin, you’ll be paying around 875 ‘VALORANT Points’ (VP), which equals around $10. For a base bundle, you’re looking at around 3500 VP ($40). If we move up to Deluxe Edition skins, it will be around 1275 VP ($16) per skin or approximately 5100 VP ($60) for a bundle. At the top end of the scale sits the Premium Edition skins, which will cost you approximately 1775 VP ($23) for one skin or a bundle can be bought for a whopping 7100 VP ($82).
So, if you mistakenly buy one, there’s a good reason for wanting to pick up a VALORANT refund!
