NFTs are back with a bang in 2023, as we have seen trading volume rise on marketplaces like OpenSea and Blur! 2022 was definitely a dry spot for NFTs, as we saw prices and the general public’s perception follow.
Those who see the potential have stayed around, and not only that, but huge worldwide organizations have also started to make NFTs. Nike, Starbucks, Amazon, and the NFL are just some examples of how mainstream NFT technology has become since it hit the limelight amidst the crypto boom.
NFTs are not just a JPEG profile picture, although they can still be found in that form, there are a bunch of other NFT variations available, including digital clothing, game cosmetics and items, real estate, and art, to name a few.
Read on to find out what the hottest NFT collections are coming out in 2023 and why you may want to add them to your watchlist!
Top NFT Collections for 2023
While there is a long list of NFTs set to be released, we wanted to narrow it down to ones we feel are fully legit, and offer actual utility.
RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 Collection
Our first NFT collection you need to check out this year comes from world renowned sportswear brand Nike and their recent NFT acquisition, RTFKT. So far they have both released some high caliber digital fashion metaverse collections that have gone on to sell for large amounts on the secondary market.
This new collection sees the famous Air Force 1 sneaker get some NFT treatment as 10 exclusive colorways are being released, some of which feature artwork from the infamous Takashi Murakami, who is no stranger to NFT clothing with his collection Clone X.
The sneakers are being released as NFTs, but those who are lucky enough to grab one will also be treated to a physical pair of the trainers! This release is super exclusive and is only open to those who already hold specific NFTs. From there, they are able to take part in the upcoming “Forging Event.”
They are made to order, which makes this drop highly exclusive. With how popular Murakami and RFTKT NFTs have been in the past, we can see this one being a big release.
Doodles x The Pharrell Pack Set
For those of you who are familiar with hip-hop and streetwear, Adidas and Pharrell Williams are often thrown into the same sentence. Doodles, while being an incredibly popular former NFT collection, has recently been under fire as their team has said they are moving away from the Non-Fungible-Token community by definition.
This doesn’t mean that the fun ends, as Pharrell is due to release an exclusive collaboration with Doodles. They are a free to mint NFT called “Pharrell-Packs” and there are 300 available. Doodles released the beta of Doodles 2 the collection that Pharrell released his NFT with.
By holding a Pharrell pack, users can gain access to exclusive physical clothing from Humanrace, his collaborative brand with Adidas, as well as digital clothing. You will be given three digital clothing pieces and a digital token that is used for redeeming physical clothing.
Billionaire Boys Club, Pharrell’s old brand, will also be featured in this upcoming NFT collection. If you are a fan of streetwear and quirky digital artwork, this is for you!
RobotEra Sandbox Builder Metaverse
A new NFT game, RobotEra, is due to be released this year, with a whole bunch of NFTs available to both customize and sell. Currently, the game’s token pre-sale is live and has already raised over $1 million.
We can imagine that this game will have some very unique NFTs available both from developers and from gamers. Much like The Sandbox, this crypto game has an in-game NFT builder that players can use.
Expect usable NFTs like weapons, characters, and cosmetic items. The game also has built in Land that can be purchased and built upon. From here, you will be able to make your own real estate that can be sold.
What makes this game special is the community spirit behind it, as gamers will be able to visit other worlds with their robot character. Along the way, you can level up, advance the story, and buy and sell NFTs with other players.
Like many games based on crypto, it is best to keep an open mind, however, a fundamental analysis of the game shows a strong whitepaper with a lot of potential for NFT and native token growth.

How to stay up to date on new NFT Collections
So we have listed some new NFT collections for 2023. Web3 never seems to stay still, especially when it comes to new releases in the NFT space.
If you want to find new collections, we recommend using Reddit crypto, as crypto and NFTs have gotten really popular there. Subreddits like r/NFTs and r/Cryptocurrency are always updated regularly.
Another great way to find new projects is through influencers. Places like YouTube are a great way to find new NFTs to invest in thanks to the long list of creators there covering the topics.
Always do your own research before investing. What an influencer or Reddit post says about an NFT project should not be taken for gospel. It is always best to do some further research to ensure you are investing in a worthy collection.
