Cyber.bet Cup Spring Series ventures into SEA for some epic Dota 2 battles
For May 11th through 17th, the good folks over at Cyber.bet have their eyes fixated on the SEA and European scene. A rising star among esports bookmakers, Cyber.bet kicks off their own Dota 2 tourney this season. Of course, it’s going to be Dota 2 betting fun for everyone eager to wager.
The SEA series boasts a solid 5,000 USD prize pool. Among the eight invited, only one will be crowned as Cyber.bet’s first Dota 2 Champion.
Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series SEA Format & Teams
The tournament format is divided into group stage and playoffs. The group stage will feature round robins for two groups of four teams. Every series is a best-of-3. Every team will proceed to the playoffs regardless of points. However, the top two teams advance to the upper bracket while the bottom two at lower bracket.
Fortunately, the lower bracket games are double elimination instead of single. The grand finals would be a deserving yet gruesome best-of-5 finish to the tournament.
Moving on, the tournament features: Geek Fam, T1, LGD.int, Execration, Cignal Ultra, Neon Esports, 496 Gaming and CR.
Veterans and Prodigies Alike
The vast SEA has no shortage of prominent veterans and young prodigies. They are all here to brawl for the champions title at Cyber.bet Cup. The spotlights shine on Carlo “Kuku” Palad on Geek Fam. Previously qualified for the ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Major, Geek Fam has always been a consistent representatives for SEA at international DPC events.
Then, there’s LGD.int (international), a less-known sister team of PSG.LGD. However, it is led by familiar faces like Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son and the German veteran, Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier. The duo intend to lead the stack of new talents to carve their mark through the SEA scene.
Last but not least, is team CR. The two Malaysian veterans, Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung and Khoo “Ohaiyo” Chong Xin, have been teammates since 2013. It was during the International 2013, when the two raised the Malaysian flag and became Malaysians’ pride for landing an honourable second runner-up finish at the International.
While unfeatured, the other competitors such as T1 and Execration should not be underestimated. They will be looking forward to defeat every team they face regardless of who they are. But all eyes are on Geek Fam as every team will definitely study them to their utmost capability.
Perhaps we just might see Geek Fam fall like flies to the underdogs. And of course, that’s going to be overwhelming esports odds for enthusiastic betters. The first series of Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series SEA begins on May 11th.
