Cyber.bet Cup Spring Series promises even more Dota 2 action this month
Esports Betting and tournament provider Cyber.bet returns with yet another esports competition. For the first time ever, the provider dips their toes in the Dota 2 competitive ecosystem. The Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series is set to feature two competitions back to back in both Europe and SEA.
The European series is larger in scope with both open and closed qualifiers and a prize pool of $7000. Between May 13-21, eight teams will compete for the prize fund and the glory of being Cyber.bet’s first ever Dota 2 champion.
Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series EU Format & Teams
The main event and qualifiers feature a double-elimination format. All matches leading up to the final will be in a best-of-three format. The Final as per tradition will be a Best-of-Five showdown. Two open qualifiers are held to determine participants in the Closed Qualifier preceding the main event.
The first open qualifier featured 76 teams and team IMG was the first team earning their ticket to the closed qualifier after beating Cascade Esports 2-1.
The second open qualifier is set for today with another 42 teams fighting for a chance at the closed qualifier this weekend.
The list of teams for the Closed qualifiers is as follows: NOVA, TPB, Family Team, Khan, F.R.I.E.N.D.S., FTM 2.0, IMG and the winner from today’s qualifier.
These eight will play another double elimination bracket with two of them earning their way to the main event.
Finally, the main event will feature: Unique, Aggressive Mode, Nemiga Gaming, OG.Seed, Team Empire Hope, ViKin.gg and the two Closed Qual. Winners.
Talent Stacked
There is a plethora of talented rosters at the event. As you may noticed, OG.Seed is one of the invitees with Madara and Peksu at the helm. The squad performed admirably just a few days ago, beating their main organization and TI Champions OG at the WePlay! Pushka League.
Team Unique earned their invite at the event, while also replacing CyberTRAKTOR at WePlay’s event after match fixing allegations. Their double stacked schedule means Unique will have a lot of matches this coming month.
We cannot underestimate Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp and his squad in Vikin.gg, who are on a dominant spree this past few months winning several online leagues.
Finally, the newly formed Aggressive Mode is a team to look out for. SsaSpartan and Skylark are yet to finalize their roster, but based on how much promise this team showed this spring, we can be sure they are here to compete.
The action at the Cyber.bet Cup: Spring Series EU kicks off May 7th with the Closed Qualifier. You can watch the action live at Sigul_Universe (Russian) and BTS (English).
