DPC China 21/22 Week 2 Match Predictions and Analysis
It doesn’t get spicier at China’s Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22 (DPC2021-22) than a summer hotpot. Invictus Gaming, a former Major champion unexpectedly took two losses in their book. In return, the spotlight shifted to less prominent teams, namely EHOME and Royal Never Give Up with revamped rosters.
As things get heated up at DPC China 21/22, Week 2 matches will surely be worthwhile.
Invictus Gaming vs Vici Gaming
Invictus Gaming hits rock bottom with two consecutive losses last week. Needless to say, IG’s situation is already looking dire and in need of drastic measures. Unfortunately, their next opponent, Vici Gaming won’t be easy pickings either.
Firstly, IG’s recent drafts have been magic-oriented excessively, as they attempt to play shorter games. However, their fast-paced draft backfired heavily when opponents, such as RNG invested in more sustainable builds. Lycan and Medusa carry builds are what RNG needs to outlast IG’s golden hour.
Many Chinese teams tend to take the late game route as well, which makes IG’s snowballing strategy obsolete. Perhaps explaining why IG seemingly plays much better on the International stage than in their region.
Nevertheless, IG is still an accomplished candidate in dota 2 betting, giving them leverage in odds at x1.33 over VG at x3.19 returns.
EHOME vs Royal Never Give Up
Both EHOME and RNG deserve a round of applause for accomplishing the impossible. Against all odds, they were able to snatch a series from one of DPC China’s top dogs, IG.
Team RNG’s lineup needs no introduction since they are the remnants of PSG.LGD and their great performance are anticipated. EHOME, however, features the former Phoenix Gaming line-up, making this underdog much more impressive than a mere team change.
Nevertheless, RNG still has the stronger roster, notably Lu “Somnus” Yao. Somnus alone poses a massive threat, due to his dominating mid-laning expertise and versatile hero pool. Couple that with reliable teammates, all are highly commendable as well, making RNG an absolutely devastating opponent to compete against.
The dota 2 odds favor RNG at x1.31 versus EHOME at x3.31 returns.
Team Aster vs LBZS
Speaking of strong opponents, Team Aster certainly fits the criteria as well. We saw Du “Monet” Peng rocking his assertive playstyle onto enemies without hesitation, believing his team is nearby to back him up on the counter-attacks.
As such, Aster is infamously known as an aggressive team that would explosively force enemies into bad team fights. For instance, they managed to snatch a game off PSG.LGD, the International 10 runner-up. Couple with the fact that the third game was an intensely long match, the series could have gone either way.
Unfortunately for LBZS, they are no PSG.LGD, and will certainly be playing at a major disadvantage. Due to LBZS’ conservative drafts, it wouldn’t be difficult for Aster to instantly catch unsuspecting foes.
Hence, the odds reflect well for Aster at x1.21 odds against LBZS at x4.19 odds.
Phoenix Gaming vs LBZS
Phoenix Gaming and LBZS are the latest additions in the Division 1 bracket, which is an accomplishment for the young squads. However, Phoenix is not in great form, especially after their original roster transferred to EHOME. While EHOME is doing phenomenally, Phoenix is visibly unqualified for the Division 1 bracket.
Meanwhile, LBZS might not strike off an impression as a viable powerhouse in DPC China. However, these folks have been a staple in Division 1 and 2 since last season. Furthermore, LBZS’ conservative playstyle comes with decent perks, notably their global presence.
A good takeaway that Phoenix can learn from Vici Gaming’s win versus LBZS is to ban Io, a hero that can relocate allies in seconds. Then, perhaps Phoenix could give LBZS a run for their money. Regardless, both teams’ odds are relatively even at approximately x1.86, despite our standing towards LBZS as the significant candidate. Hence, it’s probably reasonable to side LBZS in this match-up.
The teams in DPC China are not halting their pursuit to bring the Dota 2 Aegis of Champions back to their country. As such, we are already seeing noteworthy candidates that could be fine selections in the International 11.
