Fortnite is available in boxes, but you’ll always have to do a full download to get access to the title. This is how you can play Fortnite for Nintendo Switch:

  • Login to your Nintendo Account
  • Open the eShop
  • Click Search
  • Type in Fortnite
  • Select Fortnite
  • Click the “Free Download” Button
  • Close the eShop
  • On the Home Screen, you’ll see the Fortnite download in progress.

It might be a longer download if you’re doing it through Wi-Fi though. Fortnite can be a kind of big game so you’ll have to wait a little bit before you can jump into the island!

How to Link or Create Your Epic Games Account to Switch

Once you’ve downloaded Fortnite Nintendo Switch, you’re ready to jump in. You’ll lose access to all Fortnite skins you’ve unlocked before though unless you connect your account. You can keep all progress in Fortnite for Nintendo Switch by connecting your Epic Games account.
