Powers and Lightsabers

The Fortnite Star Wars crossover has loads of cool outfits if you’re looking to collect all Fortnite skins, but it’s also having a pretty big impact on the game itself. For the duration of the Fortnite X Star Wars crossover, you can find a few special in-game items.

For a start, lightsabers are back! These can be used as melee weapons. These are all of the lightsabers you’ll find in the game over the collaboration

  • Rey’s Lightsaber
  • Darth Vader’s Lightsaber
  • Obi-Wan’s Lightsaber
  • Mace Windu’s Lightsaber
  • Luke’s Green Lightsaber
  • Luke’s Blue Lightsaber
  • Kylo Ren’s Lightsaber
  • Sith Apprentice Lightsaber
  • Jedi Padawan Lightsaber

The new items this time around are the Force powers. You acquire these in a few different ways.

  • Double Jump – Active while using a lightsaber
  • Increased Sprint Speed – Active while using a lightsaber
  • Force Push – Get from Obi-Wan Rift
  • Force Pull – Get from Anakin rift
  • Throw – Get from Maul Rift

There’s also a brand-new blaster that you can collect from special Fortnite Star Wars chests, the DC-15 Blaster.

Fortnite Star Wars Skins

One of the biggest parts of the new event is going to be the skins. These are much more expansive than we’ve had in Fortnite’s previous crossovers, like Fortnite X Naruto. There are tons of outfits on offer, including some for free. These are the skins and how you can unlock them.

  • Clone Trooper Skin (Free)
  • Darth Maul (Rewards Tracker)
  • Wolf Pack Trooper (Tracker)
  • Ashoka’s Clone Trooper (Tracker)
  • Anakin Skywalker (Item Shop)
  • Padme Amidala (Shop)
  • 501st Trooper (Shop)
  • 212th Battalion (Shop)

Some of these skins are coming from the in-game rewards tracker. This has a free tier where you can grab some smaller cosmetics along with an entirely free Fortnite skin! The base Clone Trooper skin is available for free on this pass. The Darth Maul skin and Clone variants are on a separate paid track, however. We’ve had some of these trackers in the past, like the Dragon Ball one that brought Goku into Fortnite. This is the first with a paid tier though.

Fortnite X Star Wars

Fortnite Star Wars crossovers aren’t a new thing to Fortnite, but this one is different. In the past, Epic has hosted Star Wars crossover content pretty regularly. We’ve gotten Darth Vader in the Battle Pass and a lot of different skins. Every May brings the return of Lightsabers, and usually one type of blaster or another. This year’s Fortnite X Star Wars event is much bigger though!

With all the new mechanics, it’s our biggest yet. Much bigger than some of the game’s oldest crossovers like Fortnite X Naruto. This is going to be one of those events that people either love or hate. With so many force powers and lightsabers, it’s basically unavoidable.

If you’re a fan of the gameplay style Star Wars items usually introduce into Fortnite, you’ve got a good few weeks ahead! Epic is even open to the possibility of bringing them over to competitive Fortnite once this year’s FNCS is completed.
