Step-Up Your XP Grinding in Fortnite
Whenever there’s a new Battle Pass, all players, including myself, are looking to level their way up as quickly as possible. We can do every challenge in the game, weekly, match quests, and events, but nothing beats playing on the best XP maps in Fortnite for sheer speed of leveling up. Especially since Epic has decimated the XP yield from actually playing, at least if your time playing Fortnite is at a normal level. It’s often a tricky area, though.
There are tons of XP maps that can let you safely level up! You can get through each Pass added with Fortnite updates much quicker with these spots. This is how Fortnite XP maps work and what some of the top picks in Chapter 6 Season 2 and beyond are.
5 of My Favorite Fortnite XP Maps
The Pit Free for All: Great for Kill-Hungry Players
Code: 2590-4493-7113

Source: geerzy, Epic Games
The Pit is a pretty well-known creative map, having been around a while. It’s not the most modern map utilizing all of UnrealFN, but it’s fun and great for getting XP fast. It’s a free-for-all shooter game, you get XP for each kill. Since it’s a casual mode those kills come thick and fat. As long as you’re taking out players, this is one of the best XP maps in the game!
The Pit has had some controversy over the years, especially from it’s creator. However, the map itself is still pretty useful for grinding up levels. You’ll nearly always find a match and good players can clean up with its XP for getting kills. If you’re not the best at combat though, you could struggle.
Hacker Tycoon

Source: Epic
Code: 4397-8620-1913
If you’re looking for the best XP maps in Fortnite, you might not get ones that are fun to play. Remotely.
Tycoon maps come up quite a bit when it comes to XP, and they’re pretty tedious. They’re maps where you walk around “leveling up” and doing incredibly simple tasks over and over again. The big players counts in Fortnite for the Tycoon ones have always been confusing, but the title has a lot of young player who aren’t very discerning in terms of gameplay. This one is quite useful for levelling up in a low-effort way.
Different Tycoon Maps tend to come and go with the seasons, but at the moment this one works alright. You load into the map, and then begin upgrading things. Essentially you get a bigger yield for your actions after an upgrade, but you get XP for each level too. Grinding it will start to give out decent XP numbers, but it is a grind. Often of hitting a small central box with your pickaxe.
If you’re trying to level up because Battle Royale isn’t as much fun, the endless clicking of a Tycoon map might make even the worst seasons feel much more entertaining.
Default Parkour 425+

Source: Epic
Code: 9265-0145-5540
This is a death run of over 435 levels, which gives XP after nearly every obstacle. The main selling point of one of the Fortnite XP maps is that it’s pretty easy. You can blow through quickly enough and get some extra Creative XP.
Deathruns have always been a solid part of Fortnite Creative. This one isn’t particularly difficult, hence the “default” part of its name. Players can easily move through the map in relative speed once they know the route. It’s got an unlimited sprint which should make things faster. There’s a handful of hidden gnomes in here too which give you bonus XP. So keep an eye around corners for areas that might be hidden. All of them are fairly easy to find.
The XP you gain from this isn’t going to be record breaking, but it’s solid and gameplay isn’t that bad. Most deathruns help you polish movement mechanics which carries over into skill in other modes.
Tilted Zone Wars

Source: Epic
Code: 3729-0643-9775
Along with Deathrun, another major genre for Fortnite maps is the Zone Wars. It’s essentially a fight that tries to recreate the end zone of normal gams. That’s one of the trickiest periods to get practise in for, since it’s rarer in normal games to get that stacked. The maps for Zone Wars have varying amounts of XP, but since the gameplay is a lot more compelling they work quite well.
Tilted Zone Wars is basically a recreation of Tilted Towers, with Zone Wars. The XP yield is decent if you’re performing well. Get kills and stay alive, you should get quite a bit of XP. Most of the combat-based maps will be hit or miss though if you’re not great with the game’s combat.
Zombieland

Source: Epic
Code: 9369-6922-8408
Zombieland is one of the more popular Fortnite XP maps. It has some resemblance to other zombie games. You fight wave after wave of zombies. There are other features in it that allow you to farm XP though. Like getting special zombies or other boosts in the game. It’s one of the more fun XP maps, so it should be a bit more interesting than just aimlessly clicking.
Explainer: What are ‘Fortnite XP Maps’?
Fortnite XP Maps are creative experiences that are built to level you up quickly. Sometimes they’ll fit a different genre like being a parkour map, deathrun, or Fortnite prop hunt code. However, they’re set up in a way that makes it easy to earn XP pretty quickly.
This can be from just being easy and awarding the max creative XP. However, there are also “glitch” XP maps that let you simply press a button or something similar to get XP, taking advantage of unintentional quirks of creative mode.
The best XP maps should still be a decent standalone experience. While they’re giving out more XP than the vast majority of the competition, they’re still games that you’re playing for fun. The other types that aim to use exploits to give you too much XP will be taken down by Epic as quickly as they go up, and generally aren’t reliable.
In this article, we focus on the first type, the form of XP maps in Fortnite that Epic actually allows! Glitch and AFK maps are usually patched too quickly for many players to take advantage of them. By the time they’re published, they’ve usually been fixed. Sites like Reddit are helpful for glitch XP maps, but usually they have very little time to act on it before a fix.
The XP maps in Fortnite we list are ideal for rewarding the maximum amount levels for your time playing through them. Especially now the game has some many different branches.
Best Ways to Get XP in Fortnite Chapter 6
The Fortnite Seasons aren’t getting any longer, in fact they’re shortening slightly. Yet, it’s giving less XP for normal tasks than ever before. While the Battle Pass is full length too, more basic rewards are in those bonus levels than ever before. Grinding it out is harder and harder. Considering the quests are also in short supply, what can be done? There are a few methods, including using the best XP Maps for Fortnite.
- As usual, your first stop is the daily quests. Each game has these.
- Then weekly Fortnite quests. However, starting this season XP in every mode’s pass carries over.
So you can even play Festival to get through the Battle Pass quicker. Although, every mode seems a bit less XP-heavy in Chapter 6. Getting crown wins still helps a lot, so if you can just win back to back that’s a major help!

Once you’ve finished the main modes for the day, Lego can be a valuable resource.
- The quests here are quick and easy, with great XP.
- Since it’s a more linear experience, once you’re done, it’s over.
- If you haven’t maxed out the latest Lego Fortnite content yet, this could be an invaluable source.
Creative and Brick Life XP Buffed

Source: Fortnite
Fortnite XP has been a bit harder to get hold of since Chapter 6 launched. While it has improved from the massive cutback at the beginning of the Chapter, it’s still lower than it was in Chapter 5. It seems Epic’s strategy is to massively cut back XP, then put it back lower than it was before. So they can “buff” XP while still keeping the actual level lower than it was before. However, the new Brick Life mode got some decent XP to celebrate its release and Creative had a buff at the same time.
Players could earn playtime XP in both, just for hanging around. This went up to 3,000 instead of the old 2,300. It’s quite a bit better than it easy. It won’t quite be as good as the old AFK XP glitches, or actively using good XP maps. However, it is a way to get some easier XP at the moment.
Have Glitch XP Maps Been Banned?

We’ve focused on proper XP maps here, not the glitch versions. However, recently there have been some changes to Fortnite XP maps, or at least their promotion. Epic started taking action on maps which are being promoted on social media as handing out tons of XP. They’ve removed the promotions of these maps.
The change should mean players waste less time on Fortnite XP maps which don’t even work. However, they aren’t doing anything about specific maps outside of what they’ve always done. The recent changes are just to address the Fortnite XP maps clickbait
Best XP Maps in Every Mode: Lego, Racing, and Rhythmn
One of the biggest innovations for Fortnite Chapter 5 was the addition of a few extra game modes to Fortnite specifically we got the Fortnite Lego Mode, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. If you’re searching for the best Fortnite XP maps, these might be a good solution.
These three modes each have their own ways of getting XP. Players can play all three to try and push through each Battle Pass. With three times as many places to earn XP, grinding up has never been easier. Well, all three modes award around what Battle Royale alone used to, but at least there’s variety.
They also have the benefit of being pretty fun to play! No mindlessly grinding in Fortnite XP maps is necessary here.
When they first launched, both of these modes contained new Fortnite XP glitches. Although, they’ve since been patched. While you can’t gain 50 levels in a day anymore, each of them is still worth checking in on to ensure you’re doing all the quests you can to get through the Battle Pass quickly. It makes sense to let Weekly Quests pile up in the modes you don’t regularly play, then blast through them towards the end of the season.
Each of these modes are have gotten a creative section too! Fortnite leaks point towards more content coming too.
If you’re yet to play through Lego Fortnite or grind the easy ranks in Rocket Racing, these are the fastest ways to level up at first. Once you’ve done the basics, the XP slows down. While there’s a supply of un-done seasonal quests though, they can be a gold mine.
XP Glitch Maps in Fortnite
Those are all of the main ways to level up in Fortnite. What about maps which use exploits though? There isn’t much point in listing the best picks here since they’ll be patched by the time you’ve found them, there’s a dedicated community that archives them though on Reddit in r/FortniteXPMaps. Most of these are only good for days though!
The issue with these maps is they aren’t legitimate XP, Epic patches them out. If you’re up against it to get it done before the end of the season, these could be worth a try. However, you shouldn’t bank on it working. So, it’s usually better just to grind in the actual game instead.
Those are some picks for the best XP maps in Fortnite! Each of these Fortnite XP maps can yield a lot of experience and Battle Pass levels in quick succession!
