Now that the LoL Patch 14.3 is on the live servers, it’s time for us to turn our eyes to the next update, Patch 14.4.

LoL Patch 14.4 – Big changes coming for two champions

Patch 14.3 came with a major list of changes that are bound to shake up the meta. Not only are champions receiving buffs and nerfs, but there have been a few item changes to better balance the power of mages as well as the Hydra items, which have been quite powerful on specific champions.

Going into Patch 14.4, it’s likely that we’re going to see more focus on some of the outliers, both in solo queue as well as professional play. On top of that, more item changes will be made, as Riot is still looking to balance the new itemization

Below you can find the exact numbers and adjustments that are currently planned, according to game designer Spideraxe. Be aware that they might be subject to further changes in the upcoming days.

Patch 14.4 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.4 will be released on Thursday, Feb.22. This will be the 4th patch out of the 24 updates planned for the year.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

There are quite a few champion changes for Patch 14.4. An underrated but important adjustment is the removal of shield breaks on void grubs, which can potentially shift a few interactions. Aside from that, the K’Sante and Rek’Sai changes are quite interesting. On one hand, Riot is finally gutting K’Sante’s mobility with the hopes that it will be enough to push him down in priority, especially in pro play. On the other, Rek’Sai is getting a few intriguing tweaks that can push her back in the meta. In particular, the E change seems great against tanks: could that be a top lane angle? We’ll see.

Support changes are also in which should help them generate more gold in the early game. Not a massive change but it might open up for more aggressive laners to speed up their economy.
