All CrossFire Ranks Explained – Ranking System Guide

CrossFire is a tactical First Person Shooter that had been developed and published by Smilegate. It was first released in 2007 and has since become the top-grossing FPS title in Asia. If you are familiar with CSGO, this game is similar. The game is still active, but only in select regions outside of Asia. For those with no access to the game, there are alternatives which are similar to the original.

Spin-off title CrossFire X was recently released on Xbox and Game Pass, which has seen a good number of players engaged. Additionally, a battle royal version named Free Fire was released in 2019. Due to the initial game’s popularity, we have compiled information in a CrossFire ranking guide, which shows how the system works, what are all the ranks in CrossFire, and how to level up effectively.

CrossFire Ranking System

Ranked in CrossFire is a feature that sets players with a similar skill level against each other. Like most modern games, the ranking system is built around more than one game mode. Currently TDM and Search and Destroy are the ranked modes available. What is unique about this specific ranking system is that there are three tiers for rewards. As a precursor, losing will not impact your ranking placement.

When a win is attained in ranked, players will benefit on three fronts. Firstly, if 250 wins are attained the player will be able to collect a permanent weapon on offer and can claim the top prizes. Secondly, with progression players will receive game cosmetics such as name cards, customised weaponry, and marks. Finally, Honour points can be gained per win. Each win can grant up to 3 points with 2500 being the cap.

If the top end of Honour Points is attained, seasonal weapons will be permanently awarded to the player. With no punishment for inactivity or poor performances, you can learn as you progress. It provides an opportunity to learn from higher-ranked players, whilst developing a deep understanding of the game.

How to Rank up Effectively

Moving forward, there are many ways to gain an advantage when levelling up. Playing in a social capacity first can support the player in learning each corner of a map. Additionally, this time will allow for sensitivity adjustments.  It should be mentioned that playing with teammates can give an initial advantage. The synergy and understanding of other playstyles will allow for game plans to be set and executed. Those who have experience in CSGO can hold an advantage.

Maps from CSGO hold many similarities to ranked maps in CrossFire. With this knowledge, power positions and angles will be easier to gauge. Despite graphics not being as up-to-date in CrossFire, any FPS skills can be easily transferred. This can result in regular wins, which can launch any player closer to Top 100. With roughly 1-2 months scheduled for each season, it is vital to stay active in that period of time.

CrossFire Esports Tournaments

Despite CrossFire as a franchise existing for 15 years, the esports landscape is arguably more popular than ever. With esports tournaments occurring each month for the rest of the year, there is no shortage of action. For elite competition, CrossFire Elite League 2 will run until September. The top 8 teams will compete in the finals for a split of a $50,000 prize pool. The Winners will gain a priority slot for the end-of-season Championships.

However, players at a lower level can still compete in a community series with prizes available. Each Sunday, teams can compete and receive point prizes or crates that contain loot. Now that you have checked out our CrossFire ranks guide and understand the ranking system, go and play. Furthermore, you have the chance to compete for ranked rewards and could end up in a community series.
