Fortnite Football Crossover – Teams Launch Competition and Skins
Fortnite is one of the biggest games in esports. The title has crossover appeal bringing in players that aren’t normally interested in highly competitive games, combining casual fun and a deep metagame with a high skill cap. The latest group to enter into the world of Fortnite is elite football clubs, having announced an expansion into Fortnite. A number of teams are entering a partnership with Fortnite, bringing some new Fortnite football cosmetics into the game.
Traditional sports teams are increasingly dipping their toes into esports. For some teams, this takes the form of teams in esports versions of sports, like the competitive Fifa League or NBA2K. In these cases, the teams are directly owned by football clubs. This is the first expansion from football clubs into Fortnite however. The crossover is going to bring in a new competitive tournament, and a lot of in-game cosmetics.

Fortnite Football Crossover Skins and Game Mode
23 Clubs are entering into this partnership with Fortnite. This includes Premier League teams like Manchester City, and others like AC Milan. The teams involved are some of the biggest in the world. They’re going to be collaborating with Epic to include officially licensed emotes and skins in the game.
The biggest part of this Fortnite Football crossover is definitely going to be the skins. The American Football skins that have been added in the past have always proved very popular. As did the international football club kits that were included for the world cup. These particular skins have become a well known part of Fortnite, being one of the sweatiest skins available. The new skins will be regular club kits, bringing the top team’s colors into Fortnite as skins properly.
It isn’t just the skins that are involved in this event though. There is also a 4-v-4 game mode where players compete using their pickaxes. A LTM is always a nice distraction, and this one uses the already functioning football items in game to set up a Fortnite football game.
Which Skins are Coming?
The Fortnite football crossover is bringing 23 kits into the game, and the teams that have signed up spread pretty evenly across the world. This is who is involved:

How Do You Get the Fortnite Football Content?
Everything added into the game is going to be easily accessible to players, but it isn’t all going to be free. The skins themselves are going to be sold for V-bucks, so you’ll have to spend a little cash to get involved with them. Thankfully, there is some content from this event that is free to everyone, if you’re skilled enough.
The Pele Air Punch emote is going to be available for V-Bucks, also as a prize for placing in the Pele Cup. This is a competitive game mode based on the Football Fortnite content. The cup is also giving players the chance to win the skins themselves, but you’ll have to perform pretty well to qualify for that prize.
The Fortnite Football crossover is going to see a lot of players adopting new skins in the coming weeks! Even if you’re not a football fan, this skin has the potential to replace the world cup one as the choice skin of try-hards. So this is an event that everyone can get involved with.
