Starfield mods to Unlocks Achievements while using Console Commands

Modding Bethesda games like Starfield is a guilty pleasure for many. Over 200,000 mods for Bethesda titles like Fallout and Skyrim are featured on popular platforms. Starfield already has 900 mods on NexusMods at the time of writing.

Using mods in Starfield means you have to sacrifice earning achievements.

Guess what? As in all Bethesda games, you can cheat to your heart’s content while still racking up those sweet, sweet achievements.

Modders “break” Starfield in hours

The mod, aptly named the “Achievement Enabler” was uploaded by mooder Priqrade on September 1st just hours after the Premium Edition launch. It lets you exploit Starfield’s console commands to complete a myriad of tasks. From amassing unlimited credits to starting off with top-tier spacesuits, weapons, and resources, this mod makes your gameplay as breezy as you desire.

Three days later after the original mod came out, we got a better version called “Baka Achievement Enabler” by modder Shad0wshayd3.

Popularity Skyrockets

During Starfield’s early access phase, the mods has already been downloaded over 165,000 times. It’s not a novel concept for Bethesda games, either. Skyrim has had a similar achievement-enabling tool for years, which has been widely embraced by the modding community.

Use Console without Disabling Achievements in Starfield

To keep earning achievements while using console in Starfield, you will need to download and install two mods. You can find them on popular platform NexusMods and read through the installation process there. Or just read on, and we will provide you with a TL:DR version.

First, make a save game you intend to test the mods in separate form your main play-through. Then, go to Nexus mods (register if needed) and download these two mods:

  1. Starfield Script Extender (SFSE)
  2. Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE)

Both mods work in tandem, with the first mod serving as the main “platform” and the second to actually enable Achievments while using Console.

After downloading, you will need to add the files in the game directory where you installed your game on your system.

Paste the Starfield Script Extender files in your game directory, launch the game through the file you just added while Steam is running. If you had into Settings on the loading screen, you will see the game version als0 have Starfield Script Extender (v0.1.0) added to it.

Now close the game and proceed to paste the files from Baka Achievment Enabler in the appropriate folder /gamedir/Starfield/Data/SFSE/Plugins/ . Keep in mind your plugins folder needs to be with a capital P. (this was a note made by the mod maker)

After all files are added and you launch the game again,  you can click to see the console with “`” and if the warning sign doesn’t appear you have successfully added the mods. Try running a console command like player.setlevel to your desired level. Starfield gives out Steam Achievements at levels 10, 25, 50 and 100. If you hit a level and an achievement “pops”, congratulations.

You are now officially a space pirate.

Words of Caution

Using mods and cheats can be fun and interesting, but will cause you to skip over interesting gameplay features, and may ruin your natural progression in Starfield’s expansive universe. Try complete the game once without using console commands and earn your achievements the “right way”.

Also, sorry Xbox gamers. The mod is PC-exclusive, meaning you won’t be able to cheat your way to achievements on your console. But hey, at least you don’t have to worry about reactivating achievements, right?
