Fortnite Season 10 moves fast but keeps core gameplay at the core

Fortnite Season X is now about half way through and has been a fun change of pace for the game. Fortnite Season 10 has brought a lot of new stuff and plenty of elements from Fortnite’s past. The biggest is the new approach to updates. Where previously updates mid-season brought plenty of content, this time around the map has been the focal point.

Constantly changing

Every update seems to come with a major adjustment to the Fortnite Season 10 map. Rather than just adding some POIs at the beginning of the season. The Fortnite Season 10 map has had numerous POIs come and go from the game. These come in the form of Rifts. Rifts are dropping various locations into Fortnite Season X’s map. Some of these are returning locations, and others are brand new. The Fortnite Season 10 map has been through quite a lot of change already. This marks a big change from previous seasons where the map was overhauled at the beginning of the season, then largely left alone.

With each set of Fortnite Season 10 patch notes, the balance of the game has also been adjusted. The first few weeks were dominated by attempts to fix the B.R.U.T.E mech. Fortnite Season X now seems to have found that balance. The game was in a much more polished state by the time of the recent Fortnite Champion Series Season X. A recent update has made even bigger changes to the game. Bots have been introduced with V10.40, they will form a part of a new matchmaking system. Players will be matched with those close to them in ability, or bots if bots are closest.

Fortnite Season 10 has seen a definitive slowdown in the pace of the game. Getting around the map fast is no longer as viable, so players now how to get their fundamentals right. This is shooting, building, and using the Fortnite best settings. Season 10 has so far been defined by this return to the core mechanics, combined with aeally fast progress through content and map additions.

The Fortnite Season 10 Battle Pass will give you access to enough skins and cosmetics to keep you looking good throughout the Season. It is the preferred way to unlock cosmetics for most players, coming in far cheaper than just buying the items outright.

The Fortnite Season 10 Battle Pass has brought some changes to the system though. The daily challenges have been replaced with themed challenges. This may seem like a cosmetic difference. However, it actually makes things quite a bit easier. This takes away the problem of becoming stuck with unwinnable challenges day after day. In Fortnite season X, everything is pretty achievable even if you’re not the best player.

Fortnite Season 10 Events

Most seasons of Fortnite are dominated by the big events, Fortnite Season X hasn’t exactly been light on them. Throughout the season, there has been a near constant stream of Fortnite Season 10 leaks relating to crossovers in the game. It can make it difficult for you to keep up on Esports news with so many different things going on. While they haven’t all panned out, the events that have taken place have been pretty expansive.

The most recent has been the Batman x Fortnite crossover. This followed in Fortnite Season X’s tradition of adding new elements to the map, bringing a version of Gotham City onto the map. It might not be as authentic as Arkham Asylum, but you also don’t have to suffer the tank segments of Arkham Knight. The crossover gives unlimited Bat-Cape glider redeploys when you’re in Gotham city, as well as a batarang item within the game. This extensive promotion might have a little something to do with Epic handing out a bunch of Batman games for free.

You can expect even more of these collaborations as Season 10 progresses. Each brings something new to both items and to the Fortnite Season X map.

How long will Fortnite Season X last?

Season of Fortnite have an expiry date. Keeping new content on a regular release schedule has helped the game stay relevant. Fortnite Season 10’s release date was the beginning of August, and the game has come a long way since then. Fortnite Season 10 is scheduled to finish on October 6^th. This will be the beginning of Fortnite Season 11. However, these dates aren’t entirely set in stone. Sometimes seasons take a little longer to finish or are elongated by a brief period. While this date makes sense with the patterns we’ve seen from Epic in the past, it isn’t guaranteed.

Fortnite Season 10 has brought the game back to basics in some ways. Fun methods of traveling around the map have largely been removed. The focus has drifting back onto building, shooting, and avoiding the storm. This has reduced some of the craziness in the game. However, developers seem to have made a real effort to balance this with new additions like the mech and crossover events to keep things interesting. So far, the Season has been an enjoyable balance of new content and core Fortnite gameplay.
