Hotdrop Fiesta or Loot Chillout? Discover The Best Fortnite Landing Spots According to Your Playstyle
It’s our final season on the Fortnite Chapter 5 map, but there’s been tons of changes to keep the map exciting. That means a whole lot of new landing spots and it’s kind of difficult to narrow down where to begin. That’s why we’ve got the definitive list of the best Fortnite landing spots in Chapter 5, Season 4. Regardless of whether you’re a fan of fighting straight away, or if you’re more cautious and need a quieter pick for where to land in Fortnite.
Best Fortnite Landing Spots in Chapter 5, Season 4
- The Raft
- Castle Doom
- Restored Reels
- Grim Gate
- Redline Rig
The best Fortnite landing spots will largely depend on your preferred playstyle. If you’re a sit back and collect all your weapons kind of player, landing in the busiest area of the map probably isn’t for you. However, if you prefer to run in guns blazing, the busier ones will be right up your street. Both are solid to get a start that could end in winning a Fortnite game after it all.
These are the best Fortnite landing spots in the current season:
The Raft – Best Fortnite Landing Spots for Medallion

The first of the best Fortnite landing spots is the Raft. The floating prison is one of the more memorable new additions to this Chapter. It’s bursting with loot. Beginning where you’ll likely land, there are four different towers which each contain an Avengers chest along with other loot.
As well as an incredibly dense amount of loot and chest spawns, it’s home to Emma Frost. She’ll drop off one of the better Fortnite Chapter 5 Mythics, but also a Medallion that allows players to get the location of all enemies around them. It’s going to be a tough fight here, but it’s worth pushing through.
Castle Doom

Next on the list of best Fortnite landing spots is Castle Doom. This spot is in the very top right of the map. It’s also home to a Mythic and a medallion. It’s not quite as good as the goods at the Raft. The Doom Gauntlets have a certain charm though, and the Siphon medallion is a welcome piece of your starting loading.
Castle Doom has plenty of other loot spawns too. Its bigger problem is being a little remote. However, even with jetpacks nerfed in the balance hotfix, you’ll likely get a rotation item out of the Avengers chests. It’s a popular selection for where to land in Fortnite too, so expect a few fights.
Restored Reels

One of the returning POIs that’s still worth a visit is Restored Reels. There’s nothing specific to this loot pool here like a Medallion, but it’s a good spot.
Just in terms of rotation and planning out a game, Restored Reel is pretty central. You can get over to a lot of different places after dropping here. What’s more, the Peely Fortnite character located outside, sells a rift service to get as far as you want. It also features roughly the same chest spawns and Avengers chests as much bigger POIs, making for quick looting.
Grim Gate

Source: Epic
Grim Gate was one of the best Fortnite landing spots for seasons on end, thanks to its mythic Shotgun. That’s finally left this season. Why still drop here then? Its core loot is still pretty dense. There are loads of chests, Avengers Chests, and more than enough loot for a full team. It’s also one of the Shadow Briefing locations.
What’s more it’s still surrounded by the Skull water, great for faster movement. It’s also close enough to both the Raft (to loot up before going for the Medallion) and a spawn for the hireable scanner NPC. Which offers all the advantages of the Medallion without the drawback. That NPC location would be an okay pick for where to land in Fortnite if it didn’t offer just a single chest.
Redline Rig

Source: Epic
Our last pick was a headline POI for last season, Redline Rig. This season it’s got that weird slightly eerie feeling that comes when a POI once bustling with life is completely abandoned. However, there’s still enough loot for a whole team.
Redline features a decent number of Avengers chests and in the desert biome getting shield or heals quickly is simple thanks to the cacti. It’s also considerably quieter. Very few people still drop in the desert, so you’re often getting a whole POI of loot just for showing up.
Those are our picks for the best Fortnite landing spots this season. They’ll likely change as the weeks wind on and we get closer to the Fortnite season end date though.
