Yatoro Dota 2 Legacy – TI10 Champion with the iconic bald head
There’s a new king in the Dota 2 scene. Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, who is often dubbed YATOROGOD, is the Team Spirit carry player, who the International 10 (TI10).
Besides his accomplishment as a TI Champion, Yatoro has his defining moments in his career that gave him a witty reputation.
The legend of YATORO DOTA 2
Yatoro came into the scene in a time of uncertainty and Dota 2 hardship across the globe.
The International 10 was the most-anticipated Dota 2 Championship after a two-year hiatus from pandemic lockdowns across the globe. Team Spirit emerged as the regional qualifier winner of Eastern European Dota, which might sound great. However, at the time, Virtus.pro was the only relevant EEU team going into TI10, so Team Spirit’s entry was glorified.
The unsuspecting underdogs eventually rose to prominence when they pulled off a Lower Bracket run all the way to Grand Finals. And, even up against the proclaimed strongest team at TI10, PSG.LGD, Yatoro Dota 2 prevailed and stood fearless.
If anything, it was Team Spirit’s calm solitude that got them to where they were. After all, it was Team Spirit and Yatoro’s first debut at TI.

How did YATORO DOTA 2 become popular?
Yatoro Dota 2 skills are exceptional, but it was his massive hero pool that truly defined his strength. At the TI10 Main Event alone, he played fourteen different heroes over 20 games, which on its own, is a powerful advantage for Team Spirit. His opponents presumably gave up attempting to hinder his strength by giving him priority bans as it was an obsolete move.
And, frankly, the TI10 opponents have more concerning worries, such as Yatoro Dota 2 ally, Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov. Collapse’s signature heroes, Magnus, Mars, and Doom are game-losing threats that must be taken into account.
Victories upon victories, Yatoro’s iconic winning moment is the forehead-kissing ceremony that his Team Spirit teammates perform. It was probably a sign of gratitude for the victory but still remains memorable because of Dota 2 Yatoro’s clean-shaved head.
Yatoro Dota 2 Career and Team Spirit today
Team Spirit is still a phenomenal team today, albeit many fans argue their era has ended. For the uninitiated, BOOM Esports eliminated Team Spirit at sixteenth place in TI11 last year, ending the defending champion’s run.
However, prior to Dota 2 Yatoro’s downfall, many interviews with the Team Spirit players revealed that they have impostor syndrome. That is their TI10 achievement feels like a fluke since it was arguably PSG.LGD’s poor decision-making that let them win the last match of grand finals.
Additionally, Dota 2 Yatoro and his team were already having internal conflicts before TI11 despite winning the Arlington Major 2022.
The New Team Spirit
For Yatoro Dota 2 fans, they should be pleasantly delighted to find out that Team Spirit is still very much relevant at the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (DPC 2023). However, they are playing without their founding mid-player, Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek.
Regardless, they still placed second only to BetBoom Team, where their ex-teammate currently plays in. On that note, it seems like Dota 2 Yatoro are at least feeling confident about their new line-up. To quote Dota 2 Yatoro himself from a post-match winner’s interview at BetBoom Universe tournament, Team Spirit could return to its glory days at the Lima Major 2023.
To sum up Yatoro Dota 2 profile, the Team Spirit player is 19 this year with only four years of professional experience. He has earned a whopping $4 million in prize pool, mostly from TI10, the Riyadh Masters 2022, the Arlington Major 2022, and TI11.
